The SENER/INAER temporary joint venture, successful bidder for the program to extend the life of the Spanish Navy's AB212 helicopters
27/12/2011
Upon finalization of the public tender procedure for the program to extend the life of the Spanish Navy’s Agusta Bell 212 helicopters, the Head of Logistics Support awarded the program to the temporary joint venture formed by the companies SENER Ingeniería y Sistemas and INAER Maintenance.
The program to modernize the seven AB212 helicopters, which entered into service in 1974, will enable their operational life to be extended by at least 15 years by integrating new avionics and communication equipment, upgrading the flight and aerial navigation systems to current standards, and incorporating new abilities for monitoring maritime areas. This is an important qualitative leap in the Navy’s naval air capacity, which coincides with the entry into service of the new Maritime Action Ships (BAM).
This multiannual program, with 21 million euros in funds, will be executed at SENER’s facilities in Tres Cantos and San Agustín de Guadalix, and INAER’s facilities in Albacete and Alicante.
