What is FORAN?

FORAN is a fully integrated ship design software system that was acquired by Siemens in 2021. Since then, FORAN's capabilities have been incorporated into the Siemens Xcelerator Marine Engineering solutions.

This integration provides shipyards with a complete and comprehensive integrated portfolio of software and services that covers all aspects of the ship lifecycle, from concept design through production to operations and optimized service lifecycle management. FORAN ship design software is used at every stage of the design and production of a vessel, and encompasses all aspects of shipbuilding in a fully integrated manner.
